Remove existing roofing materials and old underlayment where necessary.
2. Inspect and Replace Damaged Wood
Check the roof decking for rot and replace any damaged wood as needed.
3. Install Drip Edge

4. Install Ice and Water Underlayment
Apply ice and water underlayment along eaves, in valleys, and behind all roof penetrations.
5. Install Synthetic Underlayment
Cover the remaining roof surface with synthetic underlayment.
6. Install Valley Metal
Install metal flashing in all roof valleys to help channel water safely off the roof.
7. Install Starter Strips
Install starter strips along the appropriate roof edges to provide a secure foundation for the shingles.
8. Install Shingles
Install shingles using six nails per shingle and an 8–10-inch sidestep pattern.
9. Install Ridge and Hip Caps
Install cap shingles along all roof ridges and hips.
10. Seal Exposed Fasteners
